Fanga Dan crowned the new Drift King
“Fanga” Dan Woolhouse has finished off the D1NZ season with a victory in the deciding Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting championship at Taupo.
“Fanga” Dan was plagued with engine and diff issues during the Saturday practice sessions but came out on the Sunday clinching the top spot in Qualifying with title contender “Mad Mike” Whiddet in a close second with only half a point seperating the two drivers.
As battles progressed, an unexpected loss was that of Andrew Redward in the Mazda RX7 who went down to rookie Shane Allen in their top 32 encounter. Andrew was a serious contender but failing to progress past this battle meant it was only Curt Whittaker who is the defending Cody’s D1NZ series champion that could still take the title.
Fanga then went onto battle Whittaker in the final with Dan claiming his third round win for the season and his second title in 8 years.
