Driftsquid on song for the Final Round!
Xtreme-Sponsored driver Jake Jones has capped off a HUGE year with a win in Round 3 of the local G1 Series at Mallala Motorsport Park in Adelaide.
Jake Jones, known as the Driftsquid showed why he is a tough competitor at his home track starting the day with a perfect 100.0 point run in the mornings qualifying session.
He headed into the Top 16 with a close battle with fellow local driver Luke Hand, the Onevia was on song and the S13 driven by Luke Hand was unable to match the car speed from Jake. The Top 4 saw Jake up against Elliot Wylie, whose 500RWHP+ Laurel is considered one of the fastest drift cars in Australia, Jake emulated and kept with Wylie on his chase run and then pulled off a quick lead run to win the battle and advance through to the Top 2. Jake’s last battle for the day was up against reigning G1 Champion Dale Campaign. Both cars are relatively equal in set up but Jake was able to push the Onevia to its absolute limits and take the overall win.
