Gaz Whiter takes another win in the D1NZ Championship

Xtreme-Sponsored Gaz Whiter has closed the gap on fellow D1NZ Competitor “Mad Mike” Whiddet with a win at Round 4 of the D1NZ National Drifting Championship at Taupo Motorsport Park over the weekend. The D1NZ Championship has 2 rounds remaining with both Gaz Whiter and Mad Mike having only 55.5 points splitting them. With many drivers and teams using the off-season to pull cars apart and re-build in time for what is set to be a big 2014 for drifting here in Australia. The team at Broadbent Motorsports were busy getting ready for their first visit to the Summernats Car Festival in Canberra, ACT.

Xtreme-Sponsored driver Jake Jones has capped off a HUGE year with a win in Round 3 of the local G1 Series at Mallala Motorsport Park in Adelaide. Jake Jones, known as the Driftsquid showed why he is a tough competitor at his home track starting the day with a perfect 100.0 point run in the mornings qualifying session. Tom, a long-time advocate of drifting here in Australia was coming off a successful Round 1 of the FD Asia Series at Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne with a 2nd place to reigning series champion Daigo Saito. Xtreme-Sponsored 3 time NZ Drift Champ Gary “Gaz” Whiter has driven the Tectaloy Nissan S14 to the podium for the first time since it was launched over the weekend at the NAC Insurance 2013 Drift Nationals. It has been a long time testing for the close knit team since the debut of the LS-Powered S14 but the package is now bullet-proof with the Chev powered V8 now making close to 400RWKW’s comfortably. Xtreme-Sponsored Tim Possingham has finished the 2013 Targa Adelaide with a class win in Early Modern as well as 5th outright out of the entire field of competing cars. Tim, along with co-driver Ben Scott managed to lead every stage over the 4 day event with a decent gap after the Intercontinental Special stage at the Showground’s on the Wednesday.
