Knowledge Base - Flywheels

Chrome Moly Flywheels

  • Chrome moly light-weight, CNC machined from chrome molysteel
  • Heat treated wear resistant surface
  • Appropriate weight designed to reduce inertia and improve engine response

Aluminium Flywheels

Benefits & Features

  • Reduced weight (Average reduction -60%)
  • Less wasted horsepower means more of the power the engine creates is used to turn the wheels
  • Lighter weight means less stress put on engine, resulting in longer life
  • Completely replaceable steel friction surface
  • Easy up sell when selling a clutch/No additional labour - Just increased performance
  • SFI approved Made in U.S.A

Material

  • 6061 T6 Billet Aluminium
  • 1050 High Carbon Alloy Steel Friction Surface
  • OEM Quality Steel Ring Gears
  • Grade 10 Aerospace Fasteners

Manfacturing Process

  • CNC machined at a consistent surface speed for a precision fit and finish
  • Computer aided designs
  • Not an alloy knock-off of an OEM unit
  • Friction surfaces are laser cut and milled to within .001"
  • Bolt patterns on friction surface eliminates warping and cupping
  • Designed and engineered to be lightweight yet extremely durable
  • We remove as much mass from the outer diameter for maximum performance
  • We leave as much mass at the centre diameter for strength and integrity

Billet Steel Flywheels

Xclutch - Billet steel flywheels are performance engineered to replace stock cast iron flywheels. These flywheels are used in both street and racing high performance applications.

CNC machined from billet steel. Appropriate weight designed to reduce inertia and improve engine response. Xclutch has specially designed these flyheels to allow various combinations of clutches to be fitted depending on use, some having unique clutch patterns for use with XTREME STREET WISE clutches.
